ICOB Sunday School is Open In-Person!
The ICOB Sunday School is designed to provide religious education to those youngsters who go to non-Islamic Public or Private schools. The Sunday School is managed and operated by our volunteer staff.
The objective of the ICOB Sunday School is to:
Teach students to read and understand select suras of our Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).
Teach Aqeedah (Faith), Ibadat (Worship of Allah SWT) & Ikhlaq (Manners).
Preserve our Muslim values and morals.
Help build a strong Muslim character based on Islamic beliefs and positive behavior.
Be confident with their Islamic identity.
Grade Assignment
The curriculum will be divided into three periods:
Reading Qur’an in Arabic
Memorization of Suras
Islamic Studies
For Islamic Studies, the students will be assigned to a level based on their age group. Assignments for Reading Quran in Arabic and Memorization of Surahs will be based on the ability of the student.
School Hours: 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM
The arrival time is 9:45 AM: Children must arrive on time so they do not disturb the rest of the class. Please treat the Sunday Islamic School the same as regular school and be punctual. All students should first go to their first-period classrooms, leave their books/backpacks there and join the assembly in the Masjid Hall. Please make sure that your children attend regularly and make it a priority to come on time.
During Inclement Weather: In the event of severe weather, parents will be getting calls from your child’s class teacher and teacher assistant. There will also be a recording on the Masjid phone at 732-583-2030, Option 4.
School Books: The tuition does not include Text Books and Workbooks. Parents may purchase the books on their own or they may purchase them from ICOB. Each Text Book generally costs $13.00 and the Workbook $11.00. If during the course of the year, your child loses any books, they will have to purchase new books at your cost. Please let them know that they need to take care of them and write their names inside the book.
Homework: We will be sending home homework sheets and progress reports; please make sure that you check your child’s homework and any other flyers that we will be sending home. We will also setup a bulletin board at the front desk, make it a point to stop by and check for any announcements of upcoming events.
Lunch: During the lunch break, the school provides a pizza and drink at a nominal price of $2.00 per child for each slice of pizza. Additional money is charged for other snacks. Please remember to give your child lunch money. All proceeds will go towards the purchase of pizza and drinks.
